February 11-17, 2013

Hello Team,

The recovery week is over… how exciting! Now it is time for the second phase. (Please read below) I will like to send a shout out to all of the athletes who participated at the brick workout at Lake Louisa and Clay Road Run… AWESOME JOB!

Training Article – Prep/Base Building Phase 2
When training for the triathlon sport you have to master five disciplines:
The previous four weeks we have been working on your Preparation/Base Phase in which it was to ease the body back into structured training, develop a training strategy for the upcoming season, prepare the body for the increasing requirements of the Base period and improve fundamental and technical skills. The general physiological adaptations that this period is intended to bring about are renewed cardio-respiratory (heart, blood, lungs) fitness through easy aerobic exercise; improved economy of movement through speed-skills development. The list can go on and on. Therefore, it is imperative to be consistent into training and take advantage of the clinics we provide. If you hae any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
